This painting is inspired by the natural beauty of one of my favourite destinations and is to show there is so much

more to experience than beaches and palm trees.

On the west side of Kauai, the oldest of the major Hawaiian Islands, is the magnificent Waimea Canyon.

Natural erosion and a collapsing of the volcano which originally formed the island have created

the 10 mile long and 3000 feet deep ‘Grand Canyon of the Pacific’, exposing its five million year

old lava flows. A sight not to be missed on any visit to Kauai.
